Elevated Zebras for Rare Disease

As a rare disease girlie, I have grown to absolutely love zebras.  If you’re new to the rare disease community, the zebra is the symbol for rare disease.

You can read why, here.  Essentially, doctors are taught that when you hear hoofbeats, it’s probably a horse, not a zebra.  When you hear new symptoms, it’s probably something common.  But it’s important to remember zebras (rare diseases) DO exist.  Hence, the zebra mascot.

As much as I love zebras, I dislike anything that could be seen as tacky or ostentatious, and unfortunately, a lot of zebra print on clothing or accessories is unbecoming in my honest opinion.  So, I’ve made it my mission to incorporate zebras in rare disease merch in a tasteful way.

Not easy to do ;)

Anyway, I added a ‘Zebra’ category to my shop so you can easily find elevated rare disease zebra merch.

I recently designed these racerback tanks featuring a zebra!

I rounded up my favorite elevated zebra finds on Amazon:
